InventoryNow...
The rate at which computer hardware and software technologies change is staggering. New software
packages often demand more computing power and often new hardware components require more up-to-date
software. As a business or organization, it is imperative to have an inventory of your computer
equipment. This inventory list becomes helpful when listing assets for tax purposes, ensuring that
your computer system can support a new software package, upgrading your current system with new components
or when completely upgrading to all new equipment.
The problem with generating an inventory list of computer equipment is the amount of time that it takes to
gather the relative information off of each computer. So let's say that it takes 45 minutes per computer
to collect, record, and enter that information into a spreadsheet. Now let's say that you have 25
computers in your organization that need to be inventoried. That's a total time of 18.75 hours to
complete that task. Not only that, but that inventory list is static and therefore does not change
like much of the information you collected will over time. To stay current, you would need to perform
this task approximately every 3 months. That's a total of 75 hours per year just to inventory the
computers in your organization.
Here's where InventoryNow comes in. InventoryNow reduces inventorying time from several hours to only
a few minutes for your entire organization. You can then set InventoryNow to update the inventory every
day, week, or for any length of time. InventoryNow gives you the power to troubleshoot a variety of
computer problems by allowing you to look up the most current configuration for that computer and then address
the problem as neccesary. You can also use InventoryNow's Watch feature to keep an eye on a particular piece
of information such as processor or memory usage if you suspect a computer is running slow due to spyware or some
other malfunction. Network connectivity issues are also a breeze with InventoryNow's built in connectivity
monitor. For a list of more features, click here.
